Terms of Use

Effective Date: September 1, 2026  |

Last Updated: September 1, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of www.nurtureplaystructure.com and everything offered through it — articles, worksheets and downloads, the NPS Body Type Assessment, the Reflection App, books and workbooks, workshops, and continuing education programs (collectively, the “Site”). Please read them carefully.

By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

IF THIS IS AN EMERGENCY, DO NOT USE THIS SITE. This site offers educational material and self-reflection tools. It is not monitored, no one reviews what you enter, and it cannot provide help in a crisis. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, are thinking about harming yourself or someone else, or need immediate help, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), call 911, or go to your nearest emergency department.

1. About This Site

The Nurture · Play · Structure (NPS) Model is a clinical and educational framework created by Phillip Bass, MDiv, ThM, MA, LCMHC, NCC. This Site is owned and operated by Trinitas Services (“Trinitas,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), 1777 Fordham Blvd., Suite 204, Chapel Hill, NC 27514.

The Site exists to share the NPS Model with two audiences: individuals who want to understand and apply the model in their own lives, and mental health professionals who want to learn to use it in their work.

2. This Site Is Educational — It Is Not Therapy

Using this Site does not create a clinician–client, therapist–patient, or professional relationship between you and Trinitas Services, Phillip Bass, or any clinician. Reading an article, downloading a worksheet, taking the assessment, using the Reflection App, buying a book, or completing a workshop does not, by itself, establish care.

Everything on the Site is offered for general educational and informational purposes. It is not clinical advice, a diagnosis, a treatment plan, or a substitute for evaluation and care by a qualified professional who knows your situation. Never disregard professional advice or delay seeking it because of something you read, watched, or completed here.

If you are already a client of Trinitas Services, your care is governed by your informed consent documents and our Notice of Privacy Practices — not by these Terms.

Examples, case illustrations, and composite scenarios are illustrative only. Personal accounts and testimonials describe individual experiences and are not a promise of any particular result.

3. The NPS Body Type Assessment

The NPS Body Type Assessment is a reflective, educational exercise. It is not a diagnostic instrument, a psychological test, or a validated psychometric measure, and it has not been normed or evaluated for clinical decision-making.

Your result is a starting point for reflection about balance among nurture, play, and structure. It is not a diagnosis, a personality classification, or an assessment of any mental health condition. Do not use a result to make decisions about treatment, medication, employment, education, or the care of another person. If something the assessment raises for you feels significant or distressing, please discuss it with a licensed professional.

Clinicians may use the assessment as a conversation starter with clients, but it should not be used as a screening, diagnostic, or outcome-measurement tool, and results should not be recorded as clinical findings.

4. The Reflection App and Journaling Tools

The Reflection App and any journaling or worksheet tools offered on the Site are self-guided tools for personal reflection. Important limits apply:

  • No one is reading your entries. Entries are not monitored, reviewed, or responded to by a clinician or by anyone at Trinitas, and submitting an entry is never a way to reach us or to request help.

  • These tools are not a clinical record. Entries are not part of any treatment record and are not protected health information under HIPAA unless you provide them directly to your clinician through our client portal.

  • Keep your own copies. We do not guarantee that entries will be retained, backed up, or recoverable, and we may modify or discontinue these tools at any time.

  • Use your judgment about what you record. Please consider whether a shared or public device is appropriate before entering personal reflections.

Our Privacy Policy describes what information these tools collect and how it is handled.

5. The NPS Model, Books, and Materials

5.1 Ownership

The NPS Model and all associated materials are the intellectual property of Trinitas Services and their author. This includes, without limitation:

  • The book Nurture · Play · Structure: Finding the Balance to Be Yourself;

  • The NPS Plus Workbook and the NPS worksheet library;

  • The NPS 90-Day Reflection Journal;

  • The NPS Body Type Assessment and the Reflection App;

  • Continuing education and workshop curricula, slides, handouts, videos, and assessments;

  • Articles and blog content on the Site; and

  • The Nurture · Play · Structure name, logo, diagrams, illustrations, color system, and other brand elements.

These materials are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Nothing on the Site transfers ownership or grants any license except as expressly stated below.

5.2 Free Downloads and Worksheets

Worksheets and other materials offered on the Site at no charge are licensed to you, not sold. Subject to these Terms, you may:

  • Personal use. Download and print them for your own personal, non-commercial use.

  • Clinical use. If you are a licensed clinician, reproduce individual worksheets for use with your own clients, in your own practice, at no charge to the client. This permission is personal to you and does not extend to colleagues, agencies, group practices, or students.

  • Attribution required. Keep all NPS branding, copyright notices, and attributions intact on any copy you print or share with a client.

Please link to the Site rather than redistributing files, so that others receive the current version.

5.3 Purchased Books and Workbooks

Purchasing a book, workbook, or journal gives you a copy to read and use personally. It does not grant a license to reproduce, distribute, teach from, or build upon its contents. A clinician who has purchased a workbook may reproduce individual worksheets for use with that clinician’s own clients on the same terms described in Section 5.2.

5.4 What You May Not Do

Except with our prior written permission, you may not:

  • Reproduce, distribute, post, or share materials beyond the permissions above, including on file-sharing sites, learning platforms, intranets, or social media;

  • Sell, license, sublicense, or otherwise commercialize any NPS material;

  • Use NPS materials to teach, train, supervise, or deliver continuing education to others, or incorporate them into your own curriculum, program, or product;

  • Create derivative works, adaptations, or translations, including reformatted or rebranded versions of worksheets;

  • Remove or alter copyright notices, attributions, watermarks, or branding;

  • Hold yourself out as certified, credentialed, endorsed, trained, or affiliated with the NPS Model absent a written agreement with us; or

  • Use any material to train, fine-tune, or ground an artificial intelligence or machine learning system, or scrape the Site by automated means.

5.5 Books Sold Through Third-Party Retailers

Our books and journals are sold through third-party retailers, including Amazon. Those purchases are governed by the retailer’s own terms, pricing, shipping, and return policies, not by these Terms, and we are not responsible for retailer transactions. The ownership and use restrictions in this Section 5 continue to apply to the materials themselves however they were obtained.

6. Workshops and Continuing Education

6.1 About Our Programs

We offer workshops and continuing education (CE) for mental health professionals based on the NPS Model, including live and interactive programs and self-paced home study. Program descriptions, learning objectives, presenter qualifications, the number of CE hours offered, and the applicable approval number are published with each program.

Trinitas Services is awaiting approval by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. [AWAITING APPROVAL]. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Trinitas Services is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

6.2 Eligibility and Registration

CE programs are intended for licensed or license-eligible mental health professionals and graduate students in the field. Some workshops are open to the general public and are identified as such; those do not carry CE credit. Registration is complete when payment is received and we confirm your enrollment. You agree that the information you provide at registration — including your name, license type, and license number where required — is accurate, and that you will not share your registration or access credentials with anyone else.

6.3 Fees and Payment

Fees are stated at registration and are payable in advance. Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor; we do not store your full payment card information. We may change pricing at any time, but a change will not affect a registration already confirmed. You are responsible for any applicable taxes.

6.4 Cancellation and Refunds

  • Home study programs: A full refund is available if you request it within 7 days of purchase and before you have downloaded or accessed the course materials. Once materials have been accessed or a CE certificate has been issued, the registration is non-refundable.

  • Live and interactive programs: A full refund is available if you cancel at least 7 days before the program date. Cancellations received fewer than 7 days before the program may be applied as credit toward a future program. No refund is available after a program has begun.

  • If we cancel: If we cancel or materially reschedule a program, you may transfer to another offering or receive a full refund, at your choice.

To request a refund or cancellation, contact us at nps@trinitasservices.com.

6.5 Attendance, Completion, and Certificates

CE hours are awarded only to participants who meet the stated completion requirements, which may include full attendance, completion of all modules, a passing score on a post-test, and submission of the program evaluation. Certificates are issued after those requirements are met. Partial credit is not awarded. Please retain your certificate; we maintain participant records as required by our approving body.

6.6 Accommodations

We are committed to making our programs accessible. If you need an accommodation to participate, contact us at nps@trinitasservices.com in advance of the program and we will work with you to make reasonable arrangements.

6.7 Concerns and Grievances

If you have a concern about program content, a presenter, accessibility, or how a program was administered, please contact us at nps@trinitasservices.com or 919-275-2137. We will acknowledge your concern promptly and work with you toward a resolution, which may include additional materials, transfer to another program, or a refund. Our full grievance procedure is available on request.

6.8 Acceptance by Licensing Boards

You are responsible for confirming that a program is accepted by your own licensing board. Requirements vary by state and by profession, and we cannot guarantee that any particular board will accept a given program for credit.

6.9 Program Materials

Course materials are licensed to you for your individual professional use only and remain subject to the restrictions in Section 5. Recording, photographing, or transmitting any portion of a live program is not permitted without our prior written consent. Completing a program does not certify you in the NPS Model or authorize you to train others in it.

7. Newsletter and Communications

If you subscribe to our newsletter, you will receive occasional resources and announcements. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. The Site’s contact form is for general inquiries; please do not send detailed health information, crisis messages, or time-sensitive requests through it, or by unencrypted email or text.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Site to:

  • Violate any law or infringe anyone’s rights;

  • Submit false, misleading, or impersonating information;

  • Upload malicious code or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site or any account;

  • Interfere with the operation or security of the Site, including through automated scraping or excessive requests; or

  • Post or transmit content that is harassing, defamatory, or that discloses another person’s confidential or health information.

We may suspend or terminate access to the Site or to any program for conduct that violates these Terms.

9. Third-Party Sites and Services

The Site links to and relies on third-party services, including book retailers, payment processing, email delivery, and video hosting. We provide those links for convenience and do not control, endorse, or accept responsibility for their content, products, or practices. Your use of a third-party service is governed by that service’s own terms and privacy policy.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that content is complete or current. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Trinitas Services and its owners, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising out of or relating to your use of the Site, its content, or its tools, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site, a program, or a material will not exceed the amount you paid to us for the item giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing in these Terms alters the professional obligations owed to clients in the course of clinical care.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Trinitas Services and its owners, employees, and contractors from any claims, damages, losses, and reasonable attorneys’ fees arising out of your misuse of the Site, your breach of these Terms, or your infringement of any intellectual property or other right.

13. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the Site — including through the contact form, newsletter signup, assessment, and Reflection App — and how we use it. It is available on the Site and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be posted on this page with an updated effective date, and changes take effect when posted. Your continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the revised Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, North Carolina, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

16. Severability and Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will remain in full force. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Trinitas Services regarding the Site. Separate written agreements — including client informed consent documents and any licensing or training agreement — control over these Terms with respect to their subject matter.
